First Lockheed C-130J ready for India

Lockheed Martin Corp. on Thursday will deliver the first of six Marietta, Ga.-built C-130Js to the Indian Air Force.
The C-130J Super Hercules is the first major U.S. military aircraft purchase by the Indian Air Force in nearly 60 years, Lockheed said.
The Indian Air Force’s C-130J is designed to support India’s special operations requirements. Equipped with an Infrared Detection Set (IDS), the aircraft can perform precision low-level flying, airdrops and landing in blackout conditions, Lockheed said. Self-protection systems and other features ensure aircraft survivability in hostile air defense environments, it added.
